Suzanne
Paden joined the team of Atrium Animal Hospital in June of 1999.
She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and is the youngest in her family
with an older brother and sister. She graduated from UNC
Charlotte in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Political Science.
She and her husband, Jim, have a beautiful and lively 4 year old
son, Andrew. Bella, aka “Boo” the cat and Batman and Robin the
spunky rats
round out the family!
Julie Hood joined the team of Atrium Animal Hospital in June of 2000. She is a Charlotte native and has a younger sister. She graduated from UNC Charlotte in 1992 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. She and her husband, Kevin, have two dogs Skippy, the friendly and faithful Labrador and Bandit the spunky and bossy Pekinese mix. Julie is an essential part of the Atrium team. She has been Office Manager for the past 6 years and has amazing abilities to coordinate and run a smooth and professional environment in our reception area. She is known for writing “novels” in the medical chart as she is a very detailed oriented person. Julie also has numerous duties which include ordering foods, flea and heartworm products and preparing the receptionist schedule. Julie strives to provide the highest quality of service for our clients and highest quality care for our furry friends. Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs on their pontoon boat at Lake Wylie. She is also a HUGE fan of the UNC Tarheels Basketball team and the Carolina Panthers and we considered her a “die hard” sport fanatic. Atrium Animal Hospital is fortunate to have Julie: a dedicated, bright and committed staff member who is vital to our operations and family team.
Catherine Braden joined the team of Atrium Animal Hospital in July of 2002. She grew up on a small farm in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She graduated from University of the Ozarks with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. She and her significant other, John, have two rescue dogs Guinness, the friendly and faithful Collie mix and Gretal, the sweet and lovable spaniel mix. Ansel, the feisty and energetic domestic short hair cat rounds out the family. Catherine is an essential part of the Atrium team. She has been Kennel Manager for the past several years and has amazing abilities to coordinate and run a smooth and professional environment in our kennel area. Catherine was a veterinary assistant prior to her current management position at Atrium. Catherine strives to provide the highest quality of service for our clients and individualized care for each of our furry guests. Catherine enjoys spending time with John and her furry children and is well known by all of the staff as an avid reader. She also enjoys traveling and visits her parents on the family farm as often as possible. Atrium Animal Hospital is fortunate to have Catherine: a dedicated, bright and committed staff member who is vital to our operations and family team.
Lynne Douyotas joined the team at Atrium Animal Hospital in November of 1999. She grew up the oldest of 4 sisters in New Jersey. Before she met her husband, Kenny, she was a licensed registered technician in the state of New Jersey at a spay/neuter clinic for 10 years. Lynne is a devoted wife and mother and prior to coming to Atrium she was a stay at home mom for her now teenage daughter and son. Lynne has a furry family of 6 cats; Ziggy, Charlie, Beamer, Billy, Marmalade and Cashew. She has a huge heart and cares for several special needs kitties and is known as the “amazing cat whisperer” by coworkers. Lynne is an essential part of the Atrium team and has been our primary Surgical Assistant for the past 11 years. She has a special interest is anesthesia and care of hospitalized patients. Lynne strives to provide the highest quality of individualized care for each of our furry patients. Lynne enjoys spending time with her family and her furry children. She enjoys reading, the outdoors, hiking and is an advocate for the environment; especially with the recycling movement. Atrium Animal Hospital is fortunate to have Lynne: a dedicated, bright and committed staff member who is vital to our operations and family team.
Susan Johnson joined the team at Atrium Animal Hospital as a receptionist in April of 2003. She grew up in Northampton, England which is a town about 60 miles from London. She attended Spencer Girls High School and went on to Art School. She settled in the field of accounting until she moved to the United States in 1984 and soon after started a family. She has a son and a daughter, not to mention a small army of furry felines. Susan enjoys being in the United States and loves the fact that there are so many different places to see. She has been able to travel most of the East Coast and a good deal of the West Coast however she would still like to adventure to the central part of the United States. Although Charlotte is considered “home”, she does miss her family and friends in England. She also misses the atmosphere of the English pubs, foods that brought her comfort such as: fish and chips, pork pie, sausage rolls, steak and kidney pudding. Susan’s hobbies include reading, music, cooking, gardening and arts and crafts. She is also quite the “handy-woman” at Atrium and we often see her with a hammer in one hand and a paint brush in the other. Susan loves the fact that she has gained a wealth of knowledge in animal care and thrives on learning something new everyday. Her interests include feline care and she likes to keep up on the latest health topics through continuing education courses and online training. Her feline furry family members are Tiger-18, Ms Kitty-14, Kali-7, Lilli-5 and her latest addition is Widget who is just 6 months old. We are happy to have Susan as a member of our staff! She is a dedicated, bright and committed member who is vital to our operations and family team. GO BRITS!
Dodie Morris joined the team of Atrium Animal Hospital in June of 2002! Dodie grew up in Flomot, Texas which is a small farming town near Amarillo. She attended Matador High School and went on to receive a medical office degree from American Commercial College. She recently accepted a title of "Auntie Dodie" with the birth of her first niece! She is part of a close knit and loving family clan in Texas! Dodie is a vital part of Atrium Animal Hospital. Dodie began her career here as a kennel assistant where she learned the basics of animal care. It soon became apparent that Dodie had the personality and high energy level required to be a veterinary assistant. In 2008, Dodie became Dr. Hombs veterinary assistant and "right hand woman". She enjoys working with Dr. Hombs and has become knowledgeable in the integrated as well as conventional aspects of the practice. She has a high degree of compassion and integrity for all living things. When asked what makes Dodie smile each day, she will answer, "Just waking up in the morning...everything else is a bonus!" In her spare time, she enjoys "anything outside." She is well known for her cat fishing skills, dirt bike riding and lunchtime power walks. Dodie has become the surrogate mother to Luna, one of the hospital's resident kitties. They have bonded and are often seen lunching together! Atrium Animal Hospital is fortunate to have Dodie as part of the team: a dedicated, bright and committed staff member who is invaluable to our operation and family team!
Tracey Page joined the staff of Atrium Animal Hospital in April of 2004! She grew up in Palmerstone North, New Zealand and attended Massey University earning her Bachelors Degree in Japanese. Upon graduation, she moved to Fujisawa, Japan which is approximately 40 miles outside of Tokyo. She taught English to Japanese children ages 3-6 and adults. While in Japan, she met her husband, David who was from Charleston, North Carolina! Tracey is enjoying her life here in the United States! She is the mother Kobi (a sassy husky premium blend), Nala (the diva Jack Russell premium blend) and Taco (the almighty ruling Chihuahua)! Two “budgies” (parakeets) round out the happy family. Tracey loves reading, taking her dogs for early morning walks, and the “True Blood Series”! She keeps all the staff up to date with the latest and greatest movies! We affectionately call her “Kiwi” and she delights in teaching us New Zealand slang. She is also famous for telling the most outrageous stories you can imagine! Tracey excels in her position as front desk receptionist due to her deep love of animals. She is committed to their well being and strives to make our clients and patients feel comfortable and cared for. We feel so fortunate to have Tracey on our team! She is a bright and dedicated team member who is vital to our operations and family!
