Meet The Stars
Dr. Yen Chou, DVM, CVA
Acupuncture, Herbals, Dentistry, Integrative

Dr. Yen Chou was born in Taipei, Taiwan.
She spent the first 12 years of her life in Taiwan until her family
decided to immigrate to Torrance in Southern California. For her
undergraduate years she studied Biology at the
University of California,
Santa Cruz. From there she continued her studies at
College of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health
Science and graduated in May of 2009. Dr. Yen has a special
interest in internal medicine, dentistry, acupuncture, Chinese food
therapy, and herbal medicine. She attended acupuncture and Chinese
food therapy training at the Chi
Institute in December of 2008 and May of 2009, respectively.
Dr. Yen is currently working towards a Masters Degree in Traditional
Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) through Chi Institute and China
Southwest University, which will require her to be certified in
Chinese herbology, food therapy, acupuncture, and tui-na, a Chinese
medical massage and manipulation technique.
In
2010, Dr. Yen was invited to join the Atrium family which she gladly
accepted. She subsequently moved from Southern California to
Charlotte. She is currently a member of
American Veterinary Medical
Association, American Holistic
Veterinary Medical Association, and
North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association. Her hobbies
include cooking, hiking, listening to music, and watching movies.
On warm sunny afternoons she enjoys napping with her two domestic
short hair (DSH) cats, Ninja and Shadow.
