Meet The Stars

Atrium Animal Hospital is please to announce the addition of Dr. Barbara Butchko.

Dr. Butchko will be joining our hospital team April 1, 2012. 

Dr. Barbara Butchko grew up in Denver, Colorado. She graduated from The Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. She practiced small animal medicine in Central Illinois until moving to Charlotte in 2012. While in Illinois she did relief work at emergency clinics and was instrumental in starting a regional pet food pantry. She moved to Charlotte to be closer to friends and family, and she is excited to become part of the team at Atrium Animal Hospital. Dr. Butchko has a special interest in taking care of aged patients, helping maintain their stamina and quality of life and assisting them with pain control and hospice care when needed. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, and the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.  

When she is not at work Dr. Butchko enjoys running, traveling, and supporting local arts organizations. She loves spending time outdoors with her husband, Robert, and their energetic Jack Russell terrier mix, Madeleine. You might also find her curled-up with a book and her calico cat, Alice.
